Last week a friend of us, Javier Robayo, visited us and he brought another friend, Marco Monteros. Both work for the Eco-Mingo foundation who maintains several reserves in Ecuador. Moreover they are both experts on Ecuadorian orchids. We agreed that they will help us identifying some of our flowering gems in order to get a good grip on the orchid diversity in Santa Lucía. On a few explorative hikes to all parts of the reserve Marco already found some interesting (and possibly undescribed) species.
