Nest of Scaly-breasted Wren / Southern Nightingale Wren found!

Last week - for the first time - we found a nest of a Scaly-breasted Wren (Microcerculus marginatus) in our reserve. It's a hole about 25 cm long below a root. We observed adult birds going in and out with food and could also see at least one juvenile bird in the nest.

Unfortunately it was a bit too dark to take good pictures. We'll keep monitoring the nest and keep you updated if something interesting happens.
